If you have abnormal cells in cervix...?

And you had to get them removed (lex or whatever) does that mean that you have genital warts?? Because I had this procedure for abnormal cells and was told it is definitely not warts but that those sort of virus' can cause warts...doctor said if I quit smoking the abnormal cells would go away naturally. I have no warts visable or anything at all but after being on the net I am finding it all so very confusing. Please help :)
